all of us who arrived that day at the way-station wanted the train out of Tragedy the man beside me looked at his Rolex and then at the sky so I looked at my digital to see if it showed the same time and then at the sky, too we talked and tried to keep busy while waiting and at last a train approached, but it was coming from the wrong direction steel wheels grinding, hissing, diesels growling like ferocious beasts There'll be no train out of Tragedy today the conductor shouted so we all got on and tried to get good seats.
